The Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP) confirms Kai Sotto is joining the GILAS PILIPINAS Men’s National Team for the FIBA Basketball World Cup Window 4 Qualifiers on August 25, 2022 vs Lebanon in Beirut and on August 29, 2022 vs. Saudi Arabia in Manila at the SM Mall of Asia Arena. 

Kai has expressed his eagerness to join his Gilas teammates in preparing for the Qualifiers and will arrive in Manila from Australia on Thursday, August 18th. 

“We are glad to have Kai into the Gilas fold and thank him for his proactive response to the call to play for flag and country for the August Qualifiers,” SBP Executive Director and Spokesperson Sonny Barrios said. 

Aside from Kai Sotto, the GILAS PILIPINAS team will also be beefed up by NBA Utah Jazz star Jordan Clarkson for this FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 Asian Qualifiers – Window 4. 

The naming of the complete pool of players will be announced by SBP once the ongoing PBA Philippine Cup Semifinals games are over.
