Fans of Gilas Pilipinas need not fret over how to secure tickets for the coming FIBA Asia Cup Qualifiers home games against New Zealand and Hong Kong at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.
The Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas, led by President Al S. Panlilio and Executive Director Erika Dy, has announced the allocation of a huge chunk of General Admission tickets for selling at the MOA Arena’s ticket windows on Game Day starting 10 a.m. of November 21.
The Philippines, No. 34 in the FIBA ranking, faces the No. 22 NZ Tall Blacks on Thursday at 7:30 p.m., and No. 117 Hong Kong on November 24, Sunday, also at 7:30 p.m.
“We are reserving a majority of our General Admission tickets to be sold on the game day itself,” said Dy during a media conference – attended by SBP chief Panlilio, national coach Tim Cone and team manager Richard del Rosario – last November 13 at the Cignal CX Center Studio on the ground floor of the Launchpad Bldg. in Mandaluyong City where the availability of the free seating tickets for the two FIBA Window home games was disclosed.
“This is to make way for walk-ins which we realized from the past windows is a big market for our Gilas fans.”
Dy also bared that “ticket sales are doing very well,” especially for the New Zealand game which is “about 80 to 90 percent sold out already.”
