Gilas Pilipinas Men notched the silver medal in the 3×3 competition of the 32nd Southeast Asian Games after a 20-15 defeat at the hands of home team Cambodia in the finals on Sunday.

The quartet of Almond Vosotros, Joseph Eriobu, Lervin Flores, and Joseph Sedurifa showed no quit against the Cambodian team.

Down 13-17, Sedurifa connected on two straight shots to slice the deficit to two with over a minute left. Unfortunately, Gilas could not convert in the waning moments as the hosts held on.

Gilas swept the group stage on Saturday and carried that momentum into the semifinals bout versus Thailand. Sedurifa hit the game-winning two-pointer with less than two minutes remaining to give the Philippines a 21-19 come-from-behind victory over last year’s champions.

Thailand was in control for most of the game and even led 17-15 with three minutes left. Sedurifa tied the game twice with a pair of long bombs before putting the game away with another shot from rainbow country.

The Philippines improved its finish in 3×3 play after earning the bronze medal in the previous edition of the SEA Games.
