ROOSEVELT Adams makes his Gilas Pilipinas debut after making the final 12-man roster of the men’s team for its game against Saudi Arabia Monday night in the FIBA World Cup Asian qualifiers.

The 28-year-old Adams was named part of the lineup for the 7 p.m. game at the SM Mall of Asia Arena after Carl Tamayo left for South Korea together with the UP Fighting Maroons on Sunday for their training camp in the coming UAAP season.

The final game for the August window will see Jordan Clarkson playing his first official game with the Philippine team on local soil.

The Utah Jazz star finished with 27 points, seven rebounds, and six assists against Lebanon in Beirut last Aug. 25 and is looking to lead a more cohesive Gilas which will have the hometown crowd behind it this time.

Gilas dropped a hard-fought match to host Lebanon 85-81 and is expected to use the lessons learned from that game against Saudi.

Clarkson and Adams will be joined in the team by Kai Sotto, Scottie Thompson, Japeth Aguilar, Chris Newsome, Jamie Malonzo, Calvin Oftana, Kiefer Ravena, Bobby Ray Parks, Thirdy Ravena, and Dwight Ramos.

The Filipinos hold a 2-3 record in Group E standings, a notch ahead of Saudi, which carries a 1-4 slate.

The visitors are also coming off a loss against New Zealand in the opening game of the fourth window last week, 80-65.
